Meteros Keep Winning Streak Alive!
The boys had 3 games in as many nights and skated away with 3 wins.

Mitchell was in Hensall for a home game against the Saugeen Shores Storm Friday night.  Mitchell got on the board 40 seconds in to the game when Solomon Koert notched an unassisted goal.  Evan MacArthur ('04) put Mitchell up by 2 near the end of the first period while Coulter Rolph and Kyle Eisler earned the assists. The boys managed to hold on to the lead and left the game winning 2-1.

Saturday Night the boys were on the road in an away game against the Zurich Thunder.  It was a fast paced game and the Meteors were able to take hold and control much of the play.  MacArthur ('04) put Mitchell up 1-0 with just three minutes left in the game.  Josh Eidt was credited with the assist.  Drew Scherbarth notched Mitchell's 2nd and 3rd goal in the same shift with two incredible shots late in the second period.  Curtis Chaffe and Cameron Haun assisted on the first goal while Matthew Crawford and Eidt earned the assists on the second.  Mitchell ended the game winning 3-0.

The final game was tonight in Mitchell, again against Zurich.  This time Zurich came out flying and were determined to beat the home team.  The Thunder were allowed to get the jump on the Meteors and the boys found themselves down 2-0 midway through the second period.  This shocked Mitchell and they began to organize themselves and play to win.  Scoring began with just seven minutes left in the second period when Eisler popped in the rebound cutting Zurich's lead in half.  Rolph earned the assist.  Just a minute and a half later, Eidt's relentless attack was rewarded on a scramble in front of the net that resulted in Mitchell's tying goal. The boys left the ice tied at 2.  The third period was end to end with many great chances by both teams.  Greg Reidy made some great saves for Mitchell.  With just over a minute left in the game, Eisler spotted Rolph alone in front of the Zurich net.  He made a great pass and Rolph made no mistake picking the top corner and notching Mitchell's winning goal.  Crawford also earned an assist on the goal.  Great job keeping the winning streak alive Mitchell!
