Novice LL2 battle BCH on home ice
Saturday afternoon the BCH AE came to town for a round robin playoff game with the Novice LL 2.
The home side started strong and led 5-0 after the first period. The attack continued in the second and the Meteors added three more. Two more were added in the third as the home side skated to a 10-0 win. Keagan "the Wall" Meinen earned his first shut out of the post season, highlighted by a stellar glove save early in the game. Ben Medhurst led all scorers with 3 goals and two assists. Ryan Hubbard had three goals and Noah Mann answered with two of his own, one being a backhanded laser beam into the top shelf. Darius Ladd and Ethan Dearing each had a goal and an assist, Dearing's being a candidate for highlight of the night, as he jumped on a loose puck at centre ice broke in and buried the puck "bar down." Lincoln Lorentz had two assists and Ethan Meinen had one. The defensive core of Colby Ryan, Ethan Meinen and Ethan Dearing played solid all game, not allowing the visitors many opportunities at the goal. Special thanks to call up Max Hannon who played a solid two way game, helping out an illness riddled line up. Next up, Mitchell travels to Milverton on Sunday afternoon looking for some retribution for an earlier playoff loss.
