McLaughlin Novice Rep win pair against Goderich but drop one to Kincardine leading into tounament.
The Meteors Novice Rep team picked up a 12-1 win against Goderich Saturday as Carson Harmer, Vincent Voros, Zachery Houben, and Jared Vosper all scored multiple times while Cole Baier also added a single. The team worked hard all game and shared the workload as almost everyone was able to add to their points total.

Sunday however was a different story as the boys went to battle with Kincardine and found themselves behind in the third down 3-1. A late game push ensued as the goalie was pulled and the extra attacker was on but Kincardine proved stronger as they scored an empty netter followed immediately by the fifth goal in the final seconds of the game.

With a sting still from the Sunday loss and a desire to get back to winning the boys went against Goderich again Tuesday night at home and agian found that winning way. Dispite some great goaltending early by Goderich the McLaughlin's Rep boys found the net with the defencemen all contributing assists. Hats off to Rhet Terpstra, Brock Boville, Caleb Templeman and Daniel Ogilvie for all generating offence while staying strong on the blueline.

The week capped off with the Novice boys heading to the Bill Batten Memorial tournament in Exeter. The boys played twice Friday dropping the first contest of the day 7-3 to the eventual tournament winning Twin Center Stars. The second game Friday against the South Huron Sabres started much different for the boys as they took a 2-0 lead in the first, but then found themselves tied up part way through the second. That just could not stand as the boys pushed back with three goals late in the second period from Harmer and Jarrett VanBakel. Both VanBakel and Vosper would each add one more in the third as the boys kept their tounament hopes alive heading into Saturday defeting the Sabres 7-5. With that brought the Saturday afternoon match against the team that had beaten them just six days before. Kincardine and Mitchell both played a tremendous game and things remained scoreless until late in the second when they each traded goals. The tie remained until Kincardine scored with just five minutes left in the third and added the security goal two minutes later. The boys never gave up as they worked right to the very last second to get the goals back but were held to the 3-1 loss knocking them out of the tounament. It was a tough week boys but you played with intensity and never gave up, keep up the hard work and the rewards will come!
