Vosper & Voros open regular season with hat tricks and assists as the McLaughlin’s Chrysler Mitchell Meteor Novice Rep team battle through opening week.
The McLaughlin's Novice Rep's took an early commanding lead in their regular season home opener against the Listowel Cyclones. The Meteors netted five goals in the first period, two from Jared Vosper and another two from Vincent Voros as they both notched five point nights. But the McLaughlin's Rep's weren't finished yet as Josh French netted a pair in the second and helped the team secure what ended as a 12-2 victory.

The team continued opening week with a Sunday afternoon match against the Lucan Irish. The novice boys quickly learned that this was going to be a much harder fight as the Irish came out scoring and held Mitchell on their heels for most of the game. Despite a pulled goalie for the extra attacker and a late game push the McLaughlin's Rep boys still came up a goal short as Lucan edged to a 6-5 victory.

With a quick turn around the boys got right back at it against their always familiar rival BCH Ice Dogs. BCH took and held an early lead but the Meteor boys pushed the Ice Dogs hard holding them to their own zone for the difficult long change for much of the second period. Even after a late second period BCH goal Jarrett VanBakel was able to score twice and tie things up for Mitchell mid way through the third. With five minutes left the boys got their first lead of the game but it was all too short as the Ice Dogs tied up again with just two minutes left. The team pushed hard to get back that goal but ran out of time and had to settle for an early season tie with their highway #8 rivals. It will surely not be forgotten by the time these teams meet again.
