Taylor Lights it Up in Game 2
The Meteors took a commanding two game lead in the series with a thrilling 4-2 win.

The Meteors opened the scoring with a goal by Owen Smith assisted by Jacob Shuker. Then after Hanover evened things up Mitchell went ahead again with a great point shot from Trevor Skinner assisted by Evan Chaffe and Devon Schinbein.
Early into the second Mitchell piled onto their lead with a goal by Joe McCarthy assisted by Skinner and Luken Van Pelt to make it 3-1. A few shifts later, Josh Taylor ripped a shot from the point adding to the Meteors lead, but the goal was immediately waved off due to a crease violation. However, a couple minutes later Taylor leaned into another shot from the point to put it past the Hanover net-minder with the assist from Sam Skinner. Hanover added a goal throughout the Meteor’s onslaught making it 4-2. The Meteors had a number of great hits in the second by Sam Skinner and call-up Kevin Rops.
In the third Mitchell ran into penalty trouble with 14 minutes in penalties in the third period alone. The Meteors penalty-kill unit went to work and executed perfectly as the Midgets held on to win.
Due to poor weather conditions game 3 was rescheduled to this Sunday where the Meteors have the opportunity to eliminate the Falcons.
