Mitchell Concludes February Strong
After a great series against Hanover, Mitchell struggled in their series versus Goderich losing 4 games to 1. Dan Skinner played phenomenal in goal throughout the series for Mitchell giving them an opportunity to win. Unfortunately the Meteors could only come away with one tie.

Sam Skinner was the story of game 1 scoring the only goal for Mitchell in a 4-1 loss as well as laying a number of colossal checks. In game 2 Dan Skinner stole the show allowing only 1 goal in a heartbreaking 1-0 loss. Skinner made nearly 30 saves in the tight match.

In game 3 the Meteors finally came together for the best game of the series. Mitchell scored first in the contest with a great unassisted goal by Ben Davey in the second frame who wristed a great shot through a screen to beat the goaltender short side. Goderich would answer back however, with two goals to take a 2-1 lead heading in to the third. Mitchell would rally back and tiy things up with another great unassisted goal this time by Owen Smith. After an uneventful overtime period the game ended in a tie forcing the series back to Goderich and with 5 points against Mitchell they could only win the rest of their games to remain alive, -a tie or a loss would result in a Goderich series win. Unfortunately the Meteors could not collaborate for another win and lost 5-0.

On Wednesday night the Meteors got back into a groove beating Brussels 1-0 in a gritty match. Devon Schinbein picked up the only goal of the game with assists from Evan Chaffe and Chris Bernard who made his return after missing over 2 months due to a knee injury. Scott Herbert picked up his first shutout of the season.
