Atom AE Boys Take Back Series Lead
The boys battled the Douro Dukes in game 4 of the Provincial semi finals and increased their point lead 5 points to 3 with a huge win in this 6 point series.
The Dukes were the first on the scoreboard but Mitchell wasn't willing to let them take over the game and kept battling in another end to end, evenly matched game. Greg Reidy was stellar in net for Mitchell and made many huge saves to keep the fans on the edge of their seat. Mitchell's first goal was a short handed, end to end rush by Kyle Eisler that brought everyone to their feet and tied up the game at 1. The Meteors continued to win battles in the corners and clear their end, time and time again against the aggressive Duke squad. The game winning goal came early in the third period from Brett Poirier after Matthew Crawford held the line on defence and got the puck to Poirier who found the back of the net. Sam Snyders also earned an assist. The Meteors were able to hang on to the one point lead and win two more points in this six point series. The boys are back in action today at 2:45 in Mitchell for game #5. Let's Go Mitchell, Let's go!!!
