Unlucky 13th Win Not Pretty But We'll Take It!
The Meteors hosted the Wingham Ironmen for league play-off, round robin action and, although it was a pretty sloppy game, the boys pulled out their 13th win in a row.

Mitchell came out flying and scored their first goal within the first minute of the game.  Kyle Eisler won the face-off, tipping the puck to Drew Scherbarth, who shot it on net and was rewarded with the goal.  Just four minutes later, Brett Poirier picked up a rebound to tap in Mitchell's second of the night while Sam Snyders earned the assist.  The boys quickly lost steam and sat back on the lead, giving way for Wingham to catch them napping and cut the lead in half on an incredible shot that, goaltender Greg Reidy, had no chance to stop.  The first period ended with the boys up 2-1.  The second period was end to end with Mitchell struggling to control the puck and find the open man time and time again.  Wingham's net minder did a great job and robbed the Meteors a few times in the second period.  The boys went into the third period with a slim 2-1 lead.  The boys looked like they were getting their game back in the third and Josh Eidt scored a beautiful, unassisted goal to increase Mitchell's lead 3-1.  Again, the Meteors continued to struggle organizing themselves and controlling the puck and the Ironmen came back to score and cut the lead to within 1 goal.  Net minder, Reidy made some great saves to keep Mitchell in the lead and the boys managed to win the game.  We'll chalk this one up to the unlucky 13th win and look forward to a great game against Douro Sunday night.  Go Meteors Go!!
