Atom AE Boys Keeping the Momentum Going
The Meteors hosted the Goderich Sailors in Game #2 of the Quarter Finals and had a hard fight as Goderich came out to win.  For the 11th game in a row, Mitchell pulled out a win and obtained their fourth point in this six point series.

Mitchell was first on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal from Kyle Eisler who was left all alone, to fend for himself, while the Meteor's were on a line change.  This was the only goal in the opening period.  Greg Reidy was, once again, hot in net for Mitchell and turned away many shots in the first period.  The second period began with Goderich evening the score on a scramble in front that Reidy had no chance to stop.  It wasn't long before Mitchell answered back with a goal from Joey Adam who managed to get a shot off while being heavily covered in front of the net.  Eisler and Darren Feltz earned the assists.  The boys ended the second period up 2-1.  Goderich continued to battle hard right through the third period, but Mitchell was relentless.  With four minutes left in the game, Josh Eidt made a beautiful play, deking around some defence and eventually tucking the puck in on a nice backhander.  Evan MacArthur earned the assist.  With just over a minute left in the game, Goderich pulled their goalie for the extra attacker and made for some nail biting moments for the Mitchell fans.  Reidy made some great saves and the forward line did a good job assisting on the back check.  With seven seconds left in the game, Adam rushed down the ice with the puck and, although the Sailors were all over him, he managed to get off a last second pass in front of the net to a waiting Eisler who deflected the puck into the open net and close the door on game #2.  This was a pretty good game for the Meteors who outshot the Sailors 18-15.  Way to go Meteors!!

Reminder:
Game #3 Sunday at 6:45 in Mitchell.
