Van Bakel Tallies Two to Cap the Series
Midget Reps took the series against the BCH Ice Dogs with a decisive 6-0 win on Saturday night in Clinton.
Joe McCarthy opened the scoring with one of his two goals of the night with help from Tyler Pauli and Jesse Kinsmen. Martin Van Bakel blew open the game late into the second period with his first of two assisted by Ross Gethke. McCarthy put in the next goal on a rebound from Kinsmen. Van Bakel and Gethke worked together again to put in goal number four in the third. Evan Chaffe and Tyler Pauli scored the final markers with assists again from Kinsmen. BCH struggled to mount any offence against the defensive efforts of Josh Taylor, Jordan Eggleton and Trevor Skinner, who returned to action after recovering from a concussion earlier in the series. Awesome goaltending from Scott Herbert earned him a shutout in back to back games. Shots were 38 to 20 in favour of Mitchell.
