Midget Rep Silver Stick
The Midget Rep team had close games in the Silver Stick tournament held last week.
The first game on Tuesday was a hard fought match against Listowel with a final score of 6-5. Jesse Kinsman scored the first two goals with Jordan Mabb, Joe McCarthy and Tyler Pauli providing the assists. McCarthy beat the buzzer in the 2nd with help from Jordan Eggleton. Third period goals were scored by Devon Schinbein and Pauli assisted by Brett Adair who had a strong game. Penalties were the difference in the contest as
Listowel capitalized on their power plays.
Thursday’s match was another tough loss when the Meteors faced Goderich losing 5-4. Pauli provided two goals and an assist. Kinsman added a goal and an assist. McCarthy had two assists in the game and Martin Van Bakel rounded out the scoring with a single marker in the third.
In the final game on Saturday, Mitchell defeated Blyth with a score of 4-2. McCarthy picked up two goals along with Loedwyk Koert and Ben Davey. Evan Chaffe, Pauli and Adair each assisted. Scott Herbert made some critical saves late in the third to ensure the win with solid defensive play by Josh Taylor and Sam Skinner.
