Novice Boys Rep Victorious Against St. Mary's!
Submitted By Andrea Adam on Tuesday, February 12, 2013
The boys played an exhibition game against the St. Mary's Rock tonight at home.  They totally dominated the game and earned a convincing victory.

The boys started off a little slow for the first few minutes but picked it up scoring the first goal mid way through the first period.  Seth Huygen rifled the puck top shelf after a nice passing play from Luke Murray and Justin Morrison.  Although Mitchell dominated this period, they could only get the one goal past the Rock's net minder.  Period #2 was another dominating period for the Meteors. Great defensive plays kept the puck in the St. Mary's end much of the period.  Nicholas Houben went end to end after a turnover and scored Mitchell's second goal of the game.  The period ended with Mitchell in the lead 2-0.  Period three was a bit more end to end as St. Mary's got a few chances on goaltender, Charlie Wood.  They were able to sneak one by him on a rebound shot mid way through the period to cut Mitchell's lead in half.  The Meteors answered right back with a goal by Connor MacLean, assisted by Dawson Dietz.  Less than 3 minutes later, Mitchell got their fourth goal of the night with Houben notching his second of the game.  Luke Murray got his second assist of the game.  With less than a minute left in the game, St. Mary's tucked away their second of the night to once again cut Mitchell's lead in half.  Strong defensive play kept the Rock from any further goals and Mitchell won 4-2.  Special mention to Luke Murray who did an outstanding job on the point and earning two assist.  Way to go Mitchell!!  Great game!
