Mitchell Dominates BCH in a Much Anticipated Win!
The boys faced off against BCH for the fourth time in regular season play this past Saturday. After losing in their first game then tying in the next 2, the Meteors were ready to test their constant improvements against the BCH squad for game 4.
BCH came out strong in the first and got a goal less than 4 minutes into the period. The Meteors answered back just minutes later with a top shelf goal from Nicholas Houben, assisted by Dawson Dietz and Connor MacLean. The first period ended tied at 1. The second period was back and forth and Mitchell goaltender, Charlie Wood, was called on to make many great saves and keep the Meteors in the game. In the dying minutes of the period, Houben got his second goal of the game with Connor Lockhart and Brayden Vosper both notching the assists to put Mitchell in the lead 2-1. Mitchell's defense did an amazing job keeping the strong BCH offence from taking control of the game. MacLean sealed the victory with a low shot that slipped under the BCH net minder. Houben and Vosper got the assists. The final 2 minutes of the game kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Wood making key saves, the defense shutting the door on the BCH offense and the Mitchell forwards getting some great goal scoring chances, made for a tense end to a great game.
