Novice Rep Blows by Mt Forest in Home Ice Victory
The boys were at home for an exhibition game against the Mount Forest Rams Tuesday night.  The Rams were looking for their 10th straight win but Mitchell had other plans...

The Rams came out fast and got the upper hand early in the first period when the puck somehow found it's way to the back of the Mitchell net.  Nicholas Houben answered back later in the period with an unassisted goal to tie it up at 1.  Just 1 minute later, Seth Huygen got his first of the night while Connor Lockhart and Luke Murray notched the assists.  Mitchell ended the period ahead 2-1.  The second period was totally under the Meteors control as they kept the puck in the Rams end for much of the period.  Huygen got his second goal of the night when he rifled the puck, top corner on the stunned Mt. Forest net minder.  Connor MacLean and Brett Poirier both got assists. 17 seconds later, Justin Morrison notched his first of the night after he knocked the puck past the goalie on a scramble in front of the net.  Houben and Lockhart earned the assists. Mitchell ended the second period up 4-1.  The third period brought a revived and eager Mt. Forest team and they put the pressure on the Meteors in a desperate attempt to take control of the game.  Time and time again, the strong Mitchell defense shut the door and kept the shots on net to a minimum.  With the defense playing a strong game, the forwards were able to be aggressive and get some good quality shots on net.  Houben opened the scoring in the third with Lockhart and Brayden Vosper notching assists.  The Rams still had some fight left in them and they scored on Charlie Wood to cut the lead 5-2.  Mitchell kept the pressure on and Morrison tucked in his second of the night on an amazing angle shot almost from beside the net.  Poirier and Houben both got the assists.  Mitchell ended the game winning 6-2.  Special congrats goes to Justin Morrison who had an outstanding game.  Way to go Meteors!!
