Novice Boys Lose Their First Game to Listowel
The boys were in Listowel for a game Wednesday night where they found themselves in unfamiliar territory losing to the Cyclones 3-2.
Listowel opened the scoring early in the first period that went completely unanswered until 53 seconds left when Connor Lockhart found the back of the net with Dawson Dietz notching an assist. The boys ended the first period tied at 1. The second period went to Listowel as they scored 2 goals to bring their lead up 3-1. The third period began with a goal from Justin Morrison, assisted by Luke Murray and Brett Poirier. The Meteors were within 1 goal of tying the game but they just didn't have anything to put on the puck and ended the game with Listowel beating Mitchell for the first time this year. The boys just didn't have any energy and played a very flat game. Watching how hard Listowel celebrated after the win, should remind us all that Mitchell is the team to beat. So let's regroup boys and do what the Mitchell Meteors do best....WIN! Let's go Mitchell, Let's Go!!
