The Snyder's Graphics Novice LL team had a victorious day in Arthur on Saturday, claiming the 'B' Championship title.
The Snyders Graphics Novice LL team played in the Arthur tournament on Sat. The first game was at eight in the morning, the team started off really well. We played hard all game and were only down by one at the end of the second, but in the third we lost our momentum and were defeated 6-1. Our lone goal was scored by Darren F. The second game was at twelve o’clock, the team was pumped and ready for anything. The first period started off strong but Fergus got the first goal. Seth H along with Arianna and P.J. fought hard and scored with 38 seconds left in the first. That is all the motivation the team needed and never looked back. With Austin W playing yet another outstanding game we came out with a victory of 3-1. Game winner scored by Evan M and insurance goal by Darren F. Now was the test with an early rise and three hours till the next game the players had to stay focused and awake. At four O’clock the Snyders Graphics Novice LL knew they would have to play their hearts out in order to win. We started the game with speed, confidence and full of sugar. Only 45 seconds into the game Darren F scored the only goal of the period to get them going. In the second period Erin Hillsburgh tied it up three minutes in, but again Seth H rose to the occasion and scored 45 seconds later. The third period was a barn burner. With Spencer B making his debut on defense along with Maggie P, Coulter R and Vieanna M all playing top notch defense we were able to hold the other team off to come out on top for the huge victory to win the “B” Championship. Congratulations to Austin, Sam, Seth, Coulter, Jadan, Darren, Maggie, Vieanna, Spencer, P.J., Evan and Arianna for a tournament well played.
Playoff Action
The Snyders Graphics headed to Goderich for their first playoff game. The team was off to a great start with the only goal in the first. Goderich tied the game in the second period, then with only two minutes left in the game and the goalie pulled Mitchell found the back of the net to tie it up. Goderich was able to come back and score with only nine seconds left to take the first game. Goals scored by Vieanna M and Sam S.
