Game 15 vrs Kincardine Kinucks
On Thursday, January 12, 2023 the Scotia Bank Mitchell Meteor's traveled to Kincardine to face the Kinucks. In their first match Mitchell won the contest 2 to 1, so the Kinucks were eager to get a win in the rematch.
After a two week delay in game action the Meteors came out strong as they battled the Kinucks. They managed plenty of shots, had the advantage in offensive end zone time and almost had a penalty free game. The Meteors had one penalty to Kincardine's five, that included 10 minute major. However, on this night Mitchell just ran into a hot Kincardine goaltender and then made a few mistakes in their own end to lose this match up 5 to 1. The loan goal would come in the third as Landon Van Bakel would take the puck in deep around the net to spot Carson Brown out front to break Kincardine's shut out hopes.
The Mitchell Meteors would also like to thank the New Hamburg Huskies for coming to Mitchell on December 27th, 2022. In an exhibition match, the A center Huskies came in for a match against the Meteors the was spectacular. Carter Miller would make brilliant saves and the fans were treated to an entertaining match-up. Mitchell would lose this one 4 to 1 with the loan goal coming from Carson Brown.
