Game 14 vrs Walkerton Capitals
The Scotia Bank U15 Rep Mitchell Meteors welcomed the Walkerton Capitals to Mitchell Tuesday, December 20, 2022 for their second match up in regular season action. Walkerton won the first match 4 to 0 but were coming into this game fresh off a 2 to 1 loss to Saugeen Shore Storm Sunday night.
Carter Miller would get the call in net and put on a solid performance throughout the game making many spectacular saves to keep this game close. Neither Mitchell or Walkerton would find the back of the net in the first period in an intense first period match up.
In the second period Griffin Bree (unassisted) would open the scoring for the Meteors at 9:42 on a wrist shot from just outside the faceoff circle. Later that period on a wild play, Carter Miller would make a pass up to Matthew Menheere who would launch one at the net from just past the center red line that would squeak past the Walkerton goalie. Late in the second, Mitchell would go on to take two penalties in the period and the Capitals would capitalize on a Power Play goal at 1:22.
The third period would see a penalty shot call in favor of Walkerton which would tie the game at 2 all. Then the Capitals would seal the win later with a goal at 7:49 of the third for a 3 to 2 win.
