Season Recap
The Midget Girls finished their round of regular season games this past weekend.  It has been an up and down season so far for this group of gals, some wins, some losses and a couple of ties.

With regular season now behind us, the team can now reflect on our season so far and see where we can improve our game to make us a better, stronger team going into our Silver Stick tournament this weekend as well as our quest to the Provincial tournament the beginning of April. In order to go to Provincials, we will have to be one of the top two teams in our regional pool against Lucknow (Huron Bruce) and our league rival South Huron.  Should be some exciting games to watch!

Everyone on the team has stepped up their game as most games we are usually missing a girl or two because of work but with all the line juggling our feisty group of forwards: Tayler McCann, Mihret Eliasziw, Alexa Hahn, Ryley Jacobs, Sammy Cameron, Chloe Bannon, Taylor Williams and Emma Badley have all had some great scoring chances and some beautiful goals so far this season.  Our defensive crew of Nicole Hahn, Jessica Rae, Emily Haefling and Emily Dearing have been strong all season and continue to play havoc with the other team’s offense. Our dynamic duo of Makayla Beuerman and Maggie Phillips have battled hard between those pipes to keep that little black disk from entering our net.

This weekend the girls head to Saugeen to compete at the Silver Stick tournament.  We have 3 round robin games to play against Sarnia, Chatham Kent and Almaquin on Friday and Saturday afternoon, then will be placed 1st to 4th in our pool to play one of the other teams from the other Midget pool.  Winners will move on to play in Semi and Final games on Sunday – so keep a watch on our site to see if we move on!

After this tournament our focus will be on Provincial playdowns to earn our spot at the Provincial tournament and in league playoffs. So still lots of hockey left to play so come on out and cheer on our great group of gals!
