Mitchell Girls PeeWee B Tournament Recap

TOURNAMENT SILVER
Game #1 Vs Huron Heat: Brooklyn Boville scored early in first period, assists to Hayden Uniac and Ashley McLeod. The Huron Heat scored in second to tie it. Mitchell pressed hard in third but couldn’t put one away to take the win. Tied 1-1
Game #2 vs Twin Centre: In a back and forth game, Brooklyn French opened Mitchell's scoring with assists to Andrea Kelly and Addy Wolfe. Third period scoring opened up. Andrea Kelly scored, assist Hayden Uniac. Andrea Kelly fired in her second, assisted by Tegan Mace, to tie it up. They scored four mins later and then scored again. The girls never recovered to muster much of an attack. Loss 5-3
Game # 3 vs North Halton. The girls needed to win this game to carry on in the tournament. Our girls came out flying . We dominated first two periods. Tegan Mace scored (battle out front), assist Rachael Haefling. Andrea Kelly scored (fired it in ), assist Jade Huygen, Aubrey Vosper. Alexis Gettler scored (rush down the middle ) assists Haileigh Templeman Our forechecking of all forwards and defense kept North Halton down in their end and they never got close to scoring. Win 3-0.
Game # 4 Semifinals Rematch vs Twin Centre. The loss to this team earlier in the tournament did not phase our girls at all. Girls came out flying again, buzzing around TC’s net but couldn’t slide one in the net. We out chanced them but they had good quality chances. Kora Smith made four or five great glove and blocker saves standing tall in net. Allyson Vogels also when called upon made two great breakaway pad saves. Unreal. Late in the third Andrea Kelly streaking down left side ripped top shelf (crowd goes wild) Assist Hayden Uniac. TC was pressing (goalie pulled) with one minute left. Then we get a penalty with 13 seconds left. Face off and scramble in our end and finally our defense fires it out, Game over. Win 1-0 to advance to finals.
Game #5 Finals Vs Mount Forest. Sold out crowd. Once again , not intimidated the girls came out flying. Buzzing their net. Our fore-checking kept them from getting anything going. Late in second their player got free and scored form slot area. Then mid way through third they scored a flukey power play goal. Our girls stuck to the game plan and kept trying. We pulled our goalie with approx. two mins left, got some chances but couldn’t get one past their goalie. Loss 2-0.
