Atom Reps travel to Kincardine November 17/19.
The Walkom's Valu-Mart Mitchell Atom Rep Meteors traveled to Kincardine for an afternoon game on November 17 to face the Kinucks.

The first period saw both teams playing a strong defensive game with a few offensive opportunities but both goalies shut the door, ending in a 0-0 tie after 10 minutes of play.

The second period started off the same with even play from both teams until the 7:46 mark when Kincardine received an interference penalty.  The Meteors were not able to capitalize on the power play and after 2 minutes found themselves in their own end with both teams at even strength.  At 5:10, a blocked shot resulted in Isaak Smith skating out of Mitchell's end with the puck, getting around a defenceman, and from a tough angle along the boards, snuck it in between the post and the goalie's skate.  Mitchell was up 1-0 and it stayed that way for the rest of the period.

Kincardine came out strong in the 3rd period scoring early off of a strong fore check to tie it up.  The Kinucks kept putting on the pressure but the Mitchell defence continued to respond.  Carter Miller made a fantastic glove save off a breakaway and later took a shot off the mask to keep the Meteors in it.  However, while on the powerplay, the Kinucks were able to score in the 9th minute.  Kincardine added 2 more and finally sealed it with an empty netter in the final minute.  Final score: 5-1 for Kincardine.

The Atom Reps will return to the ice on Wed. Nov. 20 in an exhibition game against the Seaforth Stars, followed by games at the Silverstick Regional tournament in Wingham, Nov. 24 to Dec.01.
