Silverstick Regional Tournament - Game#2 vs Saugeen Shores
On Wednesday November 27, the Walkom's Valu-Mart Mitchell Atom Rep Meteors faced the Saugeen Shores Storm for the their second game of the Silverstick Regional tournament.
The first period was evenly played between both ends with neither team able to put one up on the board; the score being 0-0 at the end of the period.
In the second period, it felt like Mitchell had the edge and it paid off at 1:37 of the period. While in the Storm's end, Colby Faust shot it in from the point, Austin Judge picked it up from behind the net passing it out front and Landon Van Bakel put it in. Meteors up 1-0. However, Saugeen Shores answered back with 1:49 left on the clock, tying it up.
4:51 into the third period, Nate Uniac scored, putting Mitchell back in the lead, 2-1 (assisted by Judge and Van Bakel). But again, the Storm responded with 6:46 left, off a rebound. The score would end in a 2-2 tie.
The Walkom's Valu-Mart Mitchell Atom Rep Meteors (8th seed) will now face the BCH Ice Dogs (9th seed) on Saturday, November 30 at 10:10am in Wingham.
