Atom Rep Meteors Battle Hard in Last 2 Away Games
The Walkom's Valu-Mart Atom Rep Meteors just came up short in the last 2 away games, losing 2-1 to the Saugeen Shores Storm on Sunday, October 20 and 3-2 to the Listowel Cyclones on Tuesday, October 22.

Traveling to Port Elgin on Sunday afternoon, the game against Saugeen Shores started off in our favour with Owen Beuermann opening the scoring halfway into the first period with a blistering wrist shot.  Before the end of the period, the Storm answered back tying it 1-1.  Saugeen Shores scored again, early in the 2nd period taking the lead for the first time.  Both teams battled back and forth with several scoring chances.  Carter Miller was stellar in net making several saves, keeping Mitchell in the game.  Unfortunately, time ran out for our Meteors, losing 2-1.

On Tuesday evening, Mitchell traveled to Listowel.  Mitchell scored twice in the opening period with goals coming from Owen Beuermann (assisted by Owen Jarmuth) and Landon Van Bakel (assisted by Ben Kelly & Owen Jarmuth).  Listowel answered back early in the 2nd period with one of their own making the score 2-1 for Mitchell.  Carter Miller stopped several shots including 2 breakaways and a penalty-kill late in the 3rd period.  With the Cyclones pulling their goalie in the last minute of play, they managed to put the pressure on and tied the game up.  On the ensuing faceoff, Listowel broke out and scored once again, ending the game in a 3-2 loss.

The Walkom's Valu-Mart Atom Rep Meteors will be participating this coming weekend in the October Classic Tournament at Twin Center.  First game will be on Saturday, October 26 at 8am in the Wellesley Arena.
