Meteors Take Series with Game 3
After a tough loss Friday night in overtime the Mitchell Novice Reps travelled to the Listowel Cyclons Sunday afternoon for game 3 of a 4 point series skating to a 2-1 victory, advancing the boys to the second round.
Mitchell came out strong. Less than a minute into the 1st period Ray Wolfe lit up the scoreboard with Carson Lubbers and Cole Templeman drawing the assists.
Shortly after Listowel would have a two man advantage and tied it up 1-1 ending the 1st period.
Two minutes into the second Logan Montgomery sniped it home to put Mitchell ahead. Cam Dietz and Owen Jarmuth contributed by setting up Montgomery. This was a back and forth battle -a nail-bitter. The boys played their hardest to end the second ontop.
The third period featured more of the same action, keeping Mitchell fans on the edge if their seats. Listowel eventually pulling their goalie but the game ended with Mitchell holding their own and defeating Listowel 2-1.
All these boys played with determination and fight. Everyone contributed to this victory one way or another.
