Mitchell travelled to Listowel on Wednesday night for the first game of the playoff series. The game turned out to be a defensive battle with the blueliners and goaltending taking center stage. Logan Montgomery managed to find the back of the net in the first period with assists coming from Blake Otten and Max Brodhagen. The score would remain 1-0 until the home team evened the score with just under six minutes left in the third with a power play marker. Then, after a key timeout and strategic planning by the coaching staff, Otten banged home a rebound with two tenths of a second left on the clock. Carson Lubbers and Cam Dietz assisted on the play by getting the puck to the net in the frantic final moments.
