Novice Reps Tie Saugeen Shores
The Saugeen Shores Storm blew into town for an exciting Saturday afternoon matinee.
The Storm came out hard and had the Meteors on their heels for much of the first. Saugeen Shores scored late in the period, but Mitchell fired right back with a nifty goal from Ray Wolfe assisted by Carson Lubbers and Owen Jarmuth. The second period featured many scoring chances at both ends. The Storm got a quick one to regain the lead. Midway through the frame Lubbers ripped a shot upstairs and later Jarmuth finished off a nice passing play from Cam Dietz and Lubbers. Mitchell went into the third with their first lead of the game but Saugeen Shores tied it up to finish off the scoring for a 3-3 tie.
Sean Gibbings played one of his best games of the season upfront, while Owen Jarmuth did an excellent job containing the Storm offence on the back end.
The boys head to Clinton on Thursday to take on BCH to finish off their season.
