Novice Reps against tough competion in Exeter tourney
The Meteors came up winless on the weekend, but had good effort with respectable results.

Mitchell started off round robin play against the host South Huron Sabres.  Ray Wolfe scored in the first period for an early lead.  Cam Dietz and Carson Lubbers had the assists.  South Huron scored two goals late in the second and added another late in the third.
Their next oppent was a strong Lambeth team.  Mitchell got on the board with a quick goal from Dietz, but that was all the offence they could muster.  Lambeth controlled the play from there on in with nine unanswered goals with Mitchell having an uncharacteristic off game.
Next was Wallaceburg for an even matchup.   Wallaceburg opened the scoring in the first before the Mitchell got on the board with a goal from Blake Otten, assisted by Logan Mongomery and Lubbers.  Lubbers made it 2-1 with assists from Owen Jarmuth and Wolfe.  Wallaceburg was up 3-2 when Lubbers got his second of the game after a feed from Mongomery.  Late in the third Wallaceburg netted the winner.   The winning goalie came up with some key saves to hold off a strong Mitchell offence.
The playoff round had the Meteors matchup against Lambeth again.  This time Mitchell's systems where very much improved as the defence held Lambeth at bay, with the offence also creating many opportunities.  Lambeth scored two goals in the first and added another in the third for 3-0 victory.  Lambeth went on to win the tournament.
Coaches said "the boys have used this opportunity to better themselves against some of the best novice teams around. the league."
