November begins with a W
November begins with a win! The midget local league continues to strive for the win on November 1 verses Listowel. The game began and players were skating down the ice like rockets on blades with the first whistle blown with 12:30 remaining.

It was an exciting first period with many rushes on each end. Our mitchell midgets persisted to bring the heat and succeeded with a goal at 10:40 byTristan Beehler assisted by Jarrett Vogels. A quick penalty against Mitchell was to follow with a trip to the Sin bin for slashing. Listowel managed a penalty as well within minutes of ours.

Back into action these young men flew with Mitchell strategically placing the puck....shot on net and goal number two scored by Kurtis Forrest assisted by Nick Baker.

Period two showed how Listowel persevered and scored on our fearless goalie with 11:38 left in the second. Mitchell retaliated with a goal by Eric Dearing assisted by Curtis Eidt only 20 seconds later. this game became a very close match with rebound goal off the pad or stick of goalie, into our net, tough one. This was followed by another retaliation goal by within seconds from the Listowel goal at 7:50 by our own Mitchell player, Trevor DeJong assisted by Eric Dearing a short 31 seconds later.

Mitchell continued to show its desire to win. Poke poke poke of the puck at the Listowel net with 1:23 remaining- no goal. Breakaway toward Mitchell net and goal surrendered to Listowel. This was clearly becoming a tight game between these apparent closely skilled players.

Tempers began to flare in the third with a couple more trips to the box by both teams. Time is on our side and two more goals were secured by Curtis Eidt, with one assist by Anthony Beuerman and the other by Christian Simpson  putting another win in our 2016 stats resulting in 6-5 over Listowel.

The remainder of the week resulted in a photo shoot at the arena and early morning practice on Saturday.

Get your skates sharpened boys for the next week looks busy with a game Sunday at 6:00 pm in Milverton and Monday against Zurich at 9:15 pm on home ice.
