Two wins this week
The Mitchell Midget LL boys team began their week with a "W" on Tuesday resulting in a 6-1 Win against the Minto Mad Dogs for our boys.

The game started off fast and furious with a goal by our number 13, Curtis Eidt at 10:29 in the first.  Both teams had great defense and offence was strong. The Minto Mad Dogs came back strong to show us they were not here to just skate firing a strong shot at goalie, James Copeland, only to find that he too was on his game.

Still in period one the boys battled back and forth with action in the opponents' end with a goal by number 7, Tristan Beehler, assisted by 13, Curtis Eidt with 8:53 remaining. The boys continued their run by working together, passing the puck to stay strong resulting in a third goal in the first period by number 11, Clayton McCarthy, assisted by 13, Curtis Eidt.

The second period did not slow down the Meteors as they scored their fourth at 11:52 with an assist by number19, Kurtis Forrest to number 13, Curtis Eidt for the goal. The teams began to play harder, resulting a quick trip to the sin bin for Brendan Boville. Minto came back to score at 5:12.

Period three was strong with both teams coming back on the ice ready to show their skills resulting in a penalty by number 13, Curtis Eidt and number 15, Trevor DeJong. The Minto team also had it's share of trips to the sin bin in period three, with a total of only four penalties in the third. Goals were scored by Mitchell 4:45 by Jarret Vogels, assisted by Tristan Beehler and 4:16 as scored by Anthony Beuerman and assisted by Brendan Boville.

James Copeland was strong in net and disappointed the Minto Bantams by only allowing a single goal to cross the line. The boys played as a team, passing the puck and communicating throughout.

The second game of the week held in Blyth on October 22, 2016 resulted in another win for the team with strong passes and great defence. The boys continued to defend their end and press forward with strong offence. This lead them to a win against Blyth 5-0.

Have a great week next week with practices scheduled this morning and Saturday morning and games on Monday and Tuesday evening.

Great job this week team!
