Atom LL's Beat Both Goderich Teams in Exciting Weekend of Hockey!
The MCR Advanced Collision Center Atom LL team faced both teams from Goderich this weekend and came away with two wins!  The Meteors showed great character and determination to come from behind in both games!  Excellent work boys!

On December 10 the Goderich 2 team made the trek to Mitchell for an exhibition game.  Goderich had the better start to the game and would score midway through the first period.  Mitchell answered in the second period with a sweet pass from Sam Huettlin to Jacob Dietrich who was waiting on the doorstep and buried it in the net!  Wade Campbell would also get an assist on the play.  Thanks to the good goaltending of Keagan Meinen the Meteors would head to the third all tied up at a goal apiece.  They would soon find themselves down a goal again as Goderich scored with five minutes left to play.  But Mitchell would not go down so easy and they would score three quick to win 4-2.  Grayson Yost scored on a tic-tac-toe passing play from Wade Campbell and Bentley Phillips.  Jacob Dietrich then scored his second of the game after a pass from his brother Brandon.  Grayson Yost would add an insurance goal, unassisted.  What a finish!

The next day Mitchell would head down Highway 8 in the snow to play the Goderich 1 Sailors in a battle of the two undefeated teams in the league.  This was another exciting game for sure!  The Meteors were on the defensive again in the first, but did not allow a goal despite having to kill a two-man disadvantage.  They would allow one in the second period though and head to the third period down 1-0.  Luckily, the boys would come alive in the third period again with three goals by their three top-producing forwards!  Brandon Dietrich made a nice rush up the ice and tucked one away.  Then, Grayson Yost would weave his way in from the corner and put one top shelf.  And then Sammy Huettlin took a slapshot from the slot and found the back of the net.  Mitchell took it 3-1!

Thumbs up boys for never giving up!  Kudos to the defensemen who were well-tested this weekend and to goalie Keagan Meinen who made some beauty saves along the way!
