ATOM LL TEAM WINS LAWS TOURNAMENT!
The MCR Advanced Collision Centers Atom LL team won their third tournament of the season on Saturday!  Braving the snow, the team made their way to Lucknow to take part in the LAWS tournament and won all three games they played to claim victory!

In the first game of the day, the Mitchell Meteors took on the West Grey Warriors.  The Meteors had a commanding 5-0 win!  Goals came from Brandon Dietrich, Bradley Dearing, Lucas Mahon, Payton Wood, and Bentley Phillips.  Phillips had a great game, also picking up a couple assists!  Other assists went to Wood and Liam Brodhagen.

Mitchell next played the Walkerton Capitals who were also coming off a big win in their first game.  The first period saw a few penalties but no goals.  The game was scoreless heading to the second period where Mitchell's offense came alive.  Brandon Dietrich scored twice on a couple of beauty shots and then Grayson Yost found the net after a nice pass from Wade Campbell.  The Meteors took a comfortable three goal lead to the third.  Walkerton would get one early in the third but then Wade Campbell scored with four minutes left to restore the three goal lead.  The Warriors pulled the goalie but weren't successful and the game ended 4-1 for the good guys.  Defense was solid in this game and Ethan Dearing and Jack Van Loon also picked up assists.  Brandon Dietrich was named MVP of the game for Mitchell!

The two wins put the Meteors in the "A" final against the Ripley Wolves.  Payton Wood opened the scoring in this one and Jeromy Vandewalle and Grayson Yost got assists on the goal.  The boys were up by one going into the second and then got three goals that period to open up their lead.  Brandon Dietrich added to his stats with another goal assisted by Bradley Dearing.  Then, Sam Huettlin got a goal on the power play, unassisted.  The next goal came from Jack Van Loon as he stole the puck in the offensive zone, walked in, and scored.  After the goal he pointed to his mom in the stands who was celebrating a birthday!  The goal was for her!  But Van Loon was not done as he added a short-handed goal in the third period and was also named MVP of the game.  The Meteors handily won the game by a score of 5-0 and were awarded the tournament trophy!  It was the first time Mitchell had ever won this tournament and it was their third tournament win this year!  Special mention to goalie Keagan Meinen who only allowed one goal the whole day and was always ready to make a big save when needed!

Congratulations boys and thanks for a great season!
