Meteors Beat Kincardine in Close Game
On December 3 the Kincardine Kinucks 2 visited Mitchell for an afternoon game against the MCR Atom LL's and the Meteors would take the tight game by a score of 1-0!

The first two periods of the game would feature many close scoring chances by both teams.  The crowd was thoroughly entertained by end to end action and several near misses.  Keagan Meinen was called upon to make several key saves to keep the game scoreless as he saw more action than he has all season.  The defense for the Meteors, consisting of Liam Brodhagen, Lucas Mahon, Jack Van Loon, and Ethan and Bradley Dearing, were kept on their toes the entire game.  They were called upon to kill several penalties and, together with Meinen, managed to keep the Kinucks from scoring.

The game was scoreless heading to the third.  The pace did not let up and the crowd was kept on the edge of their seats.  There were chances to score by Jeromy Vandewalle, Jacob Dietrich, and Wade Campbell but no one could find the back of the net until Sam Huettlin scored on a shot that was deflected up and over Kincardine's goalie and into the net!  The Kinucks did not let up but the Meteors were able to hold them off and get the 1-0 victory and another shutout for Meinen!

Great determination boys and thanks for the entertaining game!  Looking forward to next weekend's games against Goderich as we battle for top spot!
