Silver Stick report
Eight goals in three games sounds enough to be successful for the Scotiabank Bantams, but the Meteors actually only scored them in their lone win at the Kincardine Regional B Silver Stick tournament this past weekend.

Mitchell opened with a tight-checking 1-0 loss to South Huron Friday afternoon, the Sabres scoring with just over three minutes of the third period to hang on for the victory.
The Meteors regrouped against Walkerton later, scoring goals 11-seconds apart before the game was 40-seconds old off the sticks of Luke O'Rourke and Kevin Rops en route to an 8-1 romp. Mitchell went on to explode for five first period goals, including shorthanded efforts by Luken Van Pelt and Rops, before Jake Preszcator scored on the power play with nine seconds to go in the opening frame.
Big brother Cooper Preszcator got into the act in the second period then Rops completed his hat trick with a beautiful goal to the top corner on a Walkerton giveaway.
Walkerton ruined Aaron McNeil's shutout bid with 35-seconds left in the second period, while shorthanded.
Jack O'Rourke completed the scoring in the third period, converting a dandy set-up from linemate Rops.
Connor Gettler quadrupled his point totals for the season with three assists in this game while Ryan Bader, Quaid Austin, Luke O'Rourke, Judd Walker, Garrett Yost and Kaeleb Baker adding other helpers.
After a day off, Mitchell needed a win in their third round-robin game against their hosts Kincardine Sunday morning. Despite the early start for Mitchell, and facing a rested opponent in their home rink, the Meteors stayed with their opponents based largely on the standout goaltending of Tyler Meinen who held the fort. Mitchell got their legs - and some power play opportunities in the second period - but Kincardine counted first with a power play goal of their own four minutes into the second. Meinen was very sharp when he was called upon to stop a penalty shot late in the second period, trying a poke check but still had to make a spectacular pad save.
Needing a win (a tie would not be good enough to advance), Mitchell pressed for the equalizer in the third but penalties at inopportune times disrupted the flow and the Meteors could not sustain any consistent offensive momentum. Kincardine scored the game-clinching goal with 68-seconds left into an open net with the man advantage and Meinen pulled in favour of an extra attacker.
