Novice LL's Shutout Goderich in Playoff Action
The Mitchell Meteor Novice LL's are undefeated in playoff action as they traveled to Goderich on Saturday and shutout the Sailors in their second playoff game.
In the first period Blake Redfern and Noah Mann made two great passes up ice to Sam Huettlin who put the puck past the Goderich goalie to get the scoring started for Mitchell.
The Meteors came close to scoring in the second period as the puck rolled across the goal line but then came out despite a good effort by Liam Brodhagen to tap it in. Mitchell skated well and won the battles during this period with the majority of play taking place in the Goderich end.
In the third period Mitchell took control again as Sam Huettlin and Ethan Dearing would get the puck to Logan Ruby who would net Mitchell's second goal. Braydon Glauser would score the Meteor's third goal on assists from Jack Steinbach and Owen McKenzie. Meteor's goalie Brennen VanderKylen was strong in net for his team turning aside several Goderich shots and getting the shutout win.
