The New Orleans Pizza Peewee’s hosted Schomberg Red Wings in game 3 of their WOAA/OMHA series last Friday night. Schomberg made the trip on treacherous roads and that grit and determination was evident on the ice too as they came to play even though they had been shutout in the two previous games 15-0 to open the series.
Mitchell’s Ryan Murray opened the scoring in the first with an unassisted marker. Jake Preszcator made it 2-0 still in the first with help from Jacob Deck. Preszcator netted his second of the night unassisted to make it 3-0 which was the only goal in the middle frame.
Curtis Lockhart made it 4-0 in the third period assisted by Preszcator to put the game out of reach. Quaid Austin added further insurance with help from Deck and Ryan Harmer to finish the scoring 5-0 and put an end to the series 6 points to zero.
Mitchell will now take on BCH with the opening contest slated for Tuesday in Mitchell.
