Round Robin Action - Game #4
While waiting for semi-final action vs. Lambeth, the boys traveled to Goderich to continue their WOAA Round Robin play tonight.

After being stung by the Sailors 2-0 last Friday night, Mitchell knew they would have to regroup if they were to post another win tonight.  Without extra AP players & a less than 100% centre man on the bench meant that the remaining players would see plenty of ice time.

Play began back and forth without anyone being able to beat their opposing keeper.  At the 5 minute mark, the Sailors would take a cross checking penalty.  On the resulting powerplay, McCorkindale and Eidt worked the puck around the net where MacLean was able to send it under the home goal tender to take a 1 goal lead. However, Goderich responded less than two minutes later to knot things up at 1.  Wanted to bounce back quickly right off the ensuing faceoff, Murray answered when he buried it 12 seconds later to restore the Meteors' one goal lead (assists to Vogels and Boville) heading into the 2nd.

The second period would result in more end to end action, but neither team would score during these 10 minutes of play.  In the dying seconds, Mitchell would get one more rush into the Sailor's end.  While nobody would get that insurance goal, Boville went hard to the net and crashed into the end boards ending his night.  Luckily Rauser was feeling well enough that he would put a few shifts in for the third period.

It was Goderich who came out flying in the 3rd period, and within 3 minutes they broke in to beat Duncan and tie things up at 2.  With plenty of time on the clock, the Meteors regrouped and responded when Gettler scored his first goal of the season (assisted by Murray and Boville).  Mitchell kept working at getting their insurance goal, but the Sailors kept coming.  In the dying moments Duncan made some crazy saves to maintain the lead.  With the home team's keeper on the bench for the 6th skater, Eidt moved the puck up to Murray who passed it out to Vogels who found the empty net for that insurance goal and a 4-2 win.

Good work tonight boys.

Keep working - semi finals begin Friday!
