Letting them back in...
After a great game Sunday in Lambeth, the Mitchell boys had the opportunity to finish up this series at home in front a great crowd.  However, the Lancers were not ready to just hand things over...

It was a beautiful spring-like day for a hockey game but the Meteors started off on their heels with the Lancers coming at them strong right from the drop of the puck.  Duncan made some more solid saves to keep his wicket clear of rubber until the 4:17 mark of the first period.  However, it would take less than two minutes before the Meteors would even things up when Dietz's original shot sent a juicy rebound out where MacLean would clean things up and send things into the second period all tied up.

The second began where the first ended and the Lancers seemed to have their way with the home team and forced Duncan to keep them in the game.  It was almost 5 minutes into the frame when a stray pass was picked off and potted behind Duncan for the one goal lead.  Then 3 minutes later they would add an insurance goal to put the Meteors down by two heading into the third.

With lots of time on the board, there wasn't any need to panic.  But again in the 3rd, the Meteors couldn't get things rolling and Lambeth had generated confidence which gave their legs extra zip.  Try as they might, pucks were not finding the visitors net and Mitchell seemed to be chasing the puck into their own end without any successful opportunities generated outside of their own zone.  With Duncan traded in for the extra attacker, the Lancers managed to have more chances than us with two pucks going the length of the ice, off the untended left post and out.

And that's the way it would end, Lambeth 3, Mitchell 1, sending the series back to Lambeth for a 6th game since we're all tied up at 5 points each in a 6 point series.

Another tough game, but this is playoff hockey.  Reset and bring everything you have tomorrow night in Lambeth (6:30pm).
