Round two begins...
Heading to Listowel meant that Mitchell would begin round two against the top team in their league this year.

Listowel has been a team the Meteors have had a tough time with this season. Right from the start it was back and forth but it was the Cyclones who would draw 1st blood halfway through the period.  But Eidt converted a pass from Vogels to tie things up less than 30 seconds later. However it would be short lived as Listowel would restore their lead  just over 2 minutes later and send things in to the second with the Meteor's down by one.

The second 10 minute frame would see chances at either end, but the score would remain the same with Mitchell looking to even things up in the 3rd period.

And things would happen quickly in this one.  Just over a minute into the 3rd, Murray and Eidt would move the puck up the ice and McCorkindale fired a bullet into the Cyclone's twine to tie things up.  But Listowel would reply quickly with a powerplay goal less than a minute later.  Not to be discouraged, Mitchell continued to work at it and L. Harmer sent the puck up to Eidt who moved it again to Vogels who sent the biscuit past the Cyclone keeper to tie the game up again at 3.  The Cyclones restored their lead over the visitors just past the 10 minute mark but with 3 minutes left in the game Rauser would bang home a loose puck and tie the game yet again (assists going to Boville and Murray).  Looking as though this was anyone's game, Listowel broke out on a breakaway and led yet again.  Despite the fact that the Meteors knew they could again come back from behind, they let the Cyclones loose and with less than two minutes left in the game, the home team went up by 2.  Even with an empty Mitchell net and extra attacker on the ice, the game ended with Listowel winning Game#1 by a score of 6-4.

Game#2 goes Friday night.
