The Ace Garden Centre Meteor Girls played a well-matched
game against the Woodstock Wildcats during regular season play Sunday night.
Plenty of back and forth action took place throughout the
game, but the Wildcats were able to get on the board first, with a goal in the
first period. Both teams traded opportunities in the second period but neither
team could mark another point on the board.
The Wildcats responded in the third period putting the
Meteors in a tricky spot being down 2-0 in such a tight game.
Felicity Parish got the go-ahead goal for the
Meteors on a nice passing play from Reina Nevin and Danica Voros. The Meteors
continued to apply pressure and were rewarded again with a goal from Kinslee
Horan, assisted by Elena Schoonderwoerd. With the minutes winding down, both
teams pressed for another goal, but the buzzer sounded, ending the game in a
2-2 tie
