Ace Garden Centre U13 Girls start regular season play.
The first regular season game was underway against The Huron
Heat in Seaforth Saturday.
The game proved to be a battle for the girls as they were
down a goal and had a tough time figuring out the Heat defence. The Meteor
girls kept battling and were rewarded with a goal from Martyna Hartwig. The
game would finish in a 1-1 tie.
Sundays game against the South Huron Sabres was better, with
the Girls playing strong out of the gate. Martyna Hartwig netted the first goal
early in the first period with a hard shot top corner, proving that the coaches
100 puck challenge was paying off, aside from a couple broken windows (so far).
In the second period, the second goal was from a battle out front
as Danica Voros made a strong shot on net with a persistent Reina Nevin there to
grab two rebound shots to make sure the puck went in.
The third and final goal of the game was a shorthanded empty
netter in the third period from Leah Sills who made a pressured shot from around
centre ice.
Ally Vanbakel played strong in net in the 3-0 victory.
