Weekend vs. Sarnia
JP Uniac Insurance Peewee B Girls

Saturday afternoon the girls travelled to Sarnia to play the undefeated Sting.
The first period saw Mitchell get many shots on net. But Sarnia got on the board first on a short handed goal late in the first. But Jordyn Crawford didn't let them have the lead too long roughly two minutes later she took a hard shot from the blue line that got deflected and went right over the goalies head and into the crease. 1-1 going into the second.
Half way through the second Kora Smith was quick on her feet she jumped up like a cat to make a save and it tipped out of her glove. Sarnia took the lead again. A few seconds later they took a two goal lead. Then with 2:47 left in the second Claire McCorkindale won the face-off and all the girls scrambled in front of the net to get it in, Brooklyn Boville was in a perfect spot to backhand it in, well Sarnia's goalie struggled to jump to the other side to save it, she was too late as Boville backhanded it into their net. 3-2.
The girls all skated hard and tried to tie it up. But Sarnia got another one late in the third rolled by another to end the game with a 5-2 loss.

Late Sunday afternoon Sarnia travelled to Monkton. The Mitchell girls were egar for a different outcome.
They had a ton of shots on net. Sarnia did too, but Smith was standing her ground in net. She was on fire today!!
A scoreless two period game showed all the blue line girls...Heather Ogilvie, Hayden Uniac, Aubrey Vosper, Alexis Gettler and Crawford all held the line the best they could.
The third period saw Sarnia get the first goal. Then Margaret McCarthy had a shot on net, Danielle Harmer was right there for a rebound shot that missed the net but Josephine Jarmuth was there for Harmer's rebound and backhanded it in. Tie game!
Two minutes later Sarnia got one with a two on one. Coach Gettler pulled Smith for and extra attacker but we couldn't get one in.
The girls all played great. It wasn't for a lack of effort. Great game girls!
