Peewee Reps Bounced in Semi-Finals in Mitchell Tournament
The Hoegy's Farm Supply Meteor Peewee Reps competed in the Mitchell Minor Hockey Peewee Tournament this past weekend, going 2-1 in pool play but falling 5-1 to eventual tournament winner St. Marys Rock in the semi-finals.  The high-octane Mitchell offense was stalled, with their only goal coming on a centring pass from the corner that banked off a Rock defenseman's stick and into the net.  St Marys would go on to defeat the Dorchester Dragons 5-0 to capture the championship.

The locals began pool play as the tournament-opening game on Friday morning, losing a tight-checking game to Dorchester by a score of 2-1.  The Dragons led 2-0 late in the third before the Meteors would score, as Brayden Glauser would walk out from behind the net and deposit a wrist shot into the top corner.  Pressing hard for the tying marker in the dying seconds, goaltender Hayden Beuermann was pulled for an extra attacker but the comeback fell short.
The Meteors would rebound later in the day with a 5-1 win over Ingersoll, as Kyle Mills scored a pair of goals and Jarret Van Bakel led with four assists.  Single goals were scored by Jared Vosper, James McCarthy, and Josh French.  Additional assists were recorded by Rhett Terpstra, Glauser, and Vosper.
Needing a win or tie to advance to the playoff round, the next opponent on Saturday afternoon was the Elmvale Coyotes.  The Meteors dominated at both ends of the ice as Beuermann backstopped them to a 5-0 shutout.  The offense was spread around to five different players, as Mills, McCarthy, Van Bakel, Glauser, and Brandon Dietrich all had goals.  French and Kellen Russwurm each recorded a pair of assists, and Glauser and Terpstra chipped in with single helpers to advance the team to the semi-finals.
