Atom Girls Drop Tail End Of Home-and-Home
The Van Gerwen Sun Life Meteor Atom Girls traveled to Elmira on March 27th, falling 3-2 to the host Woolwich Wild to complete the back half of a home-and-home exhibition schedule.
After a sluggish start, the Meteors quickly found themselves down 3-0 after one period of play. Tegan Mace got the locals on the board with just over two minutes remaining in the second, battling hard for a loose puck down low, assisted by Ava Harmer. With goaltender Macie Russwurm pulled for the extra attacker late in the game, Harmer would score from Abigayle Van Bakel with 30 seconds remaining. But that was as close as the Meteors would get, falling a goal short of tying the game.
