Atom Girls Slip By Woolwich In Exhibition Play
The Van Gerwen Sun Life Meteor Atom Girls kicked off a pre-Provincials exhibition schedule on March 24th with a 3-1 home victory over the Woolwich Wild.
Woolwich opened the scoring late in the first period, but Mitchell would storm back with three goals in the second to secure the win. Tegan Mace was the first Meteor to hit the back of the net, converting on a rebound from Ava Harmer and Alayna McKay. Harmer would then add the next two goals, with assists coming to Camryn Medhurst and Emma Groenestege.
The Meteors travel to Elmira tonight (March 27th) to complete the back end of the home-and-home prior to competing in Provincials in Toronto next weekend.
