Atom Girls Trade Shutouts With Huron Heat
The Van Gerwen Sun Life Meteor Atom Girls had a shutout win and a shutout loss against Huron Heat on the weekend, blanking them 3-0 in Mitchell on Feb 23rd but dropping a 2-0 decision in the return trip to Seaforth on Feb 24th.

Goaltender Macie Russwurm kicked aside all shots in the 3-0 OWHA Atom ‘C’ Playdown win in Mitchell on Saturday.
The Meteors opened the scoring 35 seconds into the game on a goal by Tegan Mace from Abigayle Van Bakel and never looked back. Leah Kelly would backhand one in unassisted three minutes later to take a quick 2-0 lead, and the defense of Rylee Kipfer, Addy Wolfe, Camryn Medhurst, and Grace Bach would shut the Heat down for the remainder of the game.  Van Bakel would add an empty netter from Zoey Michel in the dying seconds of the game for insurance.
In Seaforth on Sunday in a WOGHL Playoff matchup it was Alissa Insley's turn between the pipes, and she made several stellar saves to keep the score close and still give a sluggish Mitchell team a chance to come back and win.  The locals hit a couple of posts and had several chances in close, but could not solve the Huron Heat goaltender.
