Atom Girls Tie, Lose, Win in Busy Weekend
The Van Gerwen Sun Life Financial Meteor Atom Girls started off a busy weekend on February 2nd by hosting the Waterloo Ravens and battling to a 1-1 tie. Zoey Michel was the lone goal scorer for Mitchell, assisted by Ava Harmer and Camryn Medhurst.
The next day, the Meteors opened their WOGHL Playdown round robin series with a 1-0 shutout loss in Stratford. Despite outshooting the opposition, they ran into a hot goalie that stole the win. The girls will look to avenge the loss when Stratford returns to Mitchell on February 28th.
Playing their second game of the day, the Meteors traveled to Brantford for another regular season WOGHL game. The high-flying offense kicked in, as the locals smothered their hosts by a score of 9-0. Alissa Insley had the shutout in net.
