On December 6, 2016 the Mitchell Scotia Bank Bantam AE hosted the Central Perth Rep team and continued their winning streak! The last meeting of these rival teams saw a different ending, with Central Perth winning 5-0 in Milverton, but it would be Mitchell’s turn to educate their challengers tonight. Tonight’s scoring all started with players being in the right place. Early in the first, Josh Bedour shot from the point, and Kyle Eisler, who was in front of the net, found the rebound and tucked it home. Still in the first period, Mitchell expanded their lead to 2-0 when Cameron Hahn passed the puck to Josh Edit who found the back of the net. The second period was kept scoreless, not for a lack of tying, but more because the goaltenders were stellar, especially Mitchell’s netminder Stevie Daum. In the third Mitchell continued their strong play and a pass from Darren Feltz to Mark Knill sealed the win at 3-1. Stevie Daum was solid in net the whole game, keeping the visitors scoreless until late in the third, when a scrum developed in front of him and the puck was sent blindly passed him. The boys play as of late is improving in leaps and bounds in all aspects of the game, passing, checking and pressuring. It was a great game to watch and hopefully they can continue this momentum this weekend at the Silver Stick tournament starting this Thursday evening. Good luck guys at Silver Stick!
