Huntsville Tournament
Last weekend the Mitchell Scotia Bank Bantam AE travelled to Huntsville to play in the Winston Minor Hockey Bantam AE Hockey Tournament.

The boys played their first game Friday afternoon against the South Muskoka Bears. The Huntsville arena, which was built for the G-8, was Olympic size and absolutely beautiful. The boys had lots of room to display their skills and in the second period, that is exactly what  Mark Knill did as he accepted a pass from Cater Prescator and slipped the puck passed the Bear’s goaltender, giving our boys the lead 1-0. We held the lead till near the end of the third when unfortunately the Bear’s snuck one passed Boville and tied the game. With just minutes remaining, both teams tried unsuccessfully to break the tie and the game finished at 1-1. Bovine received player of the game for his well deserved efforts.
Saturday morning came early for the boys and parents playing at 9am against the Caledonia Thunder. This was a great game, evenly matched, both in size and skill, creating lots of action at both ends of the rink. In the end,  Stevie Daum's skills and the Thunders goalie were equal and the score remained tied at zero. Stevie earned himself the player of the game. This was the best game of the tournament with both teams very equally matched.
Game three was late Saturday evening, against the Rep team Valley Storm. Intimidation was certainly a tactic well used by this team with their size, bodychecks and head shots, all of which defined the score at the end of the game. Copious shots were directed at Boville, earning him player of the game a second time.  In the end, the Mitchell Scotia Bank Bantam AE were eliminated from the tournament, went back to the hotel and travelled home on Sunday morning.
It was a great weekend, with great team bonding time, be it shopping, dinners, movies or just relaxing at the hotel, families got to know each other a little better.  Many thanks to the coaching staff for their time and dedication towards this team.
