The Scotiabank Bantam LL team started their playoff series in Ripley with a bang on Monday, February 16th at 8:30pm.
Hayden ADAIR scored the opening goal of the game from the point just as Ripley got back to full strength during the first period. Jackson MACARTHUR and Nic BAKER assisted with that beauty. Shortly after, a Mitchell player served time in the sin bin for a hooking penalty but, by doing so, prevented Ripley from scoring which allowed them to finish the period 1 to 0 us.
Both goalies saw some action during the second period, but Mitchell came out on top at the end by winning that period. Ripley managed to get their one and only goal tying up the game, but that did not last long as Tristan BEEHLER scored his first goal of the night with the assistance of Jake MONDEN and Jackson MACARTHUR. The tables turned slightly as goal number three went to MACARTHUR and the assist to BEEHLER. The scoreboard read 3 to 1 after the second.
The boys continued to play an awesome game in the third. Once again, BEEHLER started things off with his line-mates, MONDEN and MACARTHUR, assisting him not once but twice giving him a hat trick and a solid lead against Ripley. Things were looking good, but why not add a little excitement right at the end of the game with a clapper from the point delivered, unassisted, by Zeke KOERT with just two seconds left on the clock! They skated away with a 6 to 1 win.
