Doug Perks Tournment and First Playoff game
The Pee Wee Local League team played in the Doug Perks tournament in Seaforth this past weekend and had their first playoff game against Minto.

The team’s first game was against Seaforth on Friday afternoon. The team played well but the game ended in a     2-2 tie.
Goals scored by Wyatt C, and Eric D. Assisted by Ezekial K.
The team’s next game was early Saturday morning against Elmvale. The team came out strong and took a lot of shots on their goalie and came away with the 3-1 win. Solid goaltending provided from both Connor L and James C. Goals scored by Eric D, assisted by Landen T, Anthony B, assisted by Ezekial K and Wyatt C, assisted by Tyler R.
The team played again late Saturday night against St Mary’s. Another great game from everyone gave the team their second win in the tournament winning 3-1. Goals scored by Jake M, Wyatt C from Nate B and Nate B scored, assisted by Noah P.
With their 2 win, 1 tie record gave them the top spot in their division and put them in the one of 2 “A” semi- finals on Sunday.
The team’s semi- final game was against Centre Wellington. The team started strong and scored first but after a few quick goals from the other team, gave them the edge and the team lost 6-1. Lone goal scored by Wyatt C.
The team played hard and had a good time at the tournament and represented Mitchell well.

The team now starts their round robin playoff series against Minto on Monday night and then Teeswater, Elma Logan and Seaforth. Good luck in your games.

On Monday night the team traveled to Harriston through the snow to play the Minto Mad Dogs.  The Mad Dogs scored a couple of goals on us and we were down by 2 after two periods.  In the third period the boys started strong and scored 2 quick goals within 8 seconds of each other.  Goal scorers were Hayden A and Eric D.  Eric D, Klye W and Ezekial K provided the assists.  After the end of the third period the score was still tied 2-2.  The game went into a 10 minute overtime but with lots of shots and a very physical game it ended with a 2-2 tie.
It was a very interesting and nail bitting game for everyone to watch.

The team's next game is on Sunday Feb 17 in Teeswater.  Good luck boys - let's keep playing hard and keep the momentum going.
